29th Dec 2010 (Wednesday)
Watched the final leg of the AFF Suzuki Cup with my sisters and cousins, and yes with Azra as well at Restoran Idaman, Mutiara Damansara. It was nerve wrecking watching the entire match.
The memorable and once in a lifetime moment for me that night was when the incredible harimau malayan keeper saved the challenging attempt by the Garuda team...the crowd was jumping on chair, utensils were thrown to the air, high-5 with strangers were common, cars honking on the roads, hugging with strangers was also permissible, the vuvuzela's (including me) were making its annoying yet "who-cares" melodious tune, crowd were singing "Inilah barisan kitaaaaaa", and this was just a scene at your usual food spot. I repeat, this was not at a stadium but the crowd were excellent!!!!
It was worth it for me to drive all the way from home and be among this crazy crowd was just speechless!!!
Not to forget, Mar, my newly made friend from Redang joined us as well for drinks at Rasta after the match. Seronok habis hanging with this witty lass!!!
30th Dec 2010 (Thursday)
Mum thrashed me out for the idea joining my girlfriends to Melaka. She agreed to it last week but somehow she had "forgotten" about it and went on and on about me going away for new year with friends. She repeatedly reminded me of "family" and plenty of house chores to be done!
The act of me cancelling last minute for the trip has earned me the badge of "being outcasted" by my girlfriends. At least, that is what I'm feeling judging from their reaction. Oh well, I guess deserve the cold treatment. I'm sure they had a marvellous time in Melaka while I'm stucked at home with house chores.
I actually went out for a jog in the morning at klcc and did plenty of housework as well. Oh, and I did colored my hair. We shall see if anyone notices it.
Thank you again Mel for the coffee session at Joe's place though we wanted to have scones from Haute at first. Let's try again this Thursday (6/1/2011) nak?
Dinner with Ash as well!! Rasa macam lama sungguh tak lepak with Ash. Thank you for the tea!!
31st Dec 2010 (Friday)
Still no reply from my girlfriends. Sad. If I went with them, mum would trash me. I stayed home, and I had successfully managed to pissed my girlfriends off. I was really hoping I could catch some cendol at jonker with them.
Mum had instructed her daughters to clean up the back store room aka "Poop room". The store is practically filled with poop, urines and stuff that has not been opened for the past 3 years since we moved from JB.
If there was a show on "disgusting things you find in the store room", this would have been perfect! All those creepy insects came out and gave us a surprise that gave us a hell of a time to clean up the room!!! We spent half day in the morning to clean up (or at least 30%) of the shit.
Magically, my youngest sister offered to pay our usual grass cutter for 100 bucks if he is willing to clean up the room! Of course he accepted job, duhhh!!!! SO for the next half day, he helped us out to clean the room. By 6pm, all of us were beat and the idea to go Dataran Merdeka for new years countdown seem pretty challenging for us whom were out of energy. We wanted to somewhere that is cozy and easy access. We finally decided to head KLCC after dinner.
Dad called up and making sure that Nelly and myself were coming to Pangkor the very next day. Yes, we decided to join him there for a short break cum work.
Back to the new year's eve plan. There we were at KLCC , 2 hours before the countdown. Strolling at the park was not easy when tourists from all over the world and other eager beaver firework fans were crowding the place. We finally found a spot at the Starbucks and waited for the clock to strike midnight.
...5..4..3....2...1 HAPPY NEW YEAR 2011!!!!
1st January 2011 (Saturday) & 2nd January 2011 (Sunday)
Left home early to reach Lumut jetty for a ferry trip to Pangkor. WE DID IT!!! We were at Pangkor for the "Festival Puisi dan Lagu Rakyat Antarabangsa" that was held at Puteri Bayu Beach Resort, Pangkor.
Freshen up and we blended in pretty well with the poets from all over asian countries. Add to our surprise, we had to perform each with a poem, in bahasa!!! I did " Teluk Dalam, apa yang kau cari?" and Nelly did "Benarkah Laut Itu Biru". We surprised ourselves!!!
We accompanied MB Perak for a fishing trip at night and we headed to the nearest joint for us to hang out with the crew. 2.30 am we finally made back to our rooms as we needed the energy the very next day.
More photo sessions with MB Perak, poets and of course with the beach!!!
Finally, we left Pangkor and we reached KL around 6.30pm and guess what....I was really tired that I actually slept early at 8pm!!!
Apologies Azra dear for not being able to see you last night, as I was really...really beat!!!
So, how did you spend your New Year?
